The world-class Duck Club Yacht Club is located in the center of the 39-mile long Alton Lake at mile marker 220.
The 114-unit “dockominium” features 40-, 50-, and 60-foot covered, floating docks in a protected harbor on the Mississippi River, near St. Louis. All docks have access to electricity, fresh drinking water and phone/DSL.
The private Duck Club Yacht Club includes a 125-seat restaurant, swimming pool and a poolside gazebo bar.
Once called Center Point during the 60’s and 70’s it was the place to be on the upper Mississippi River and was owned by Dave Robertson. Center Point in the 80s was an abandoned marina with a club house and pool, about where the current one is now, but in a much different layout and not as high above the flood line. Dave was said to own not only Center Point, but also, Riviera (Now Port Charles) and Hideaway Harbor (now a county park). Dave sold Riviera to Tom and Marylin Kirgin on 3/15/1984.
Some time in the mid to late 1980’s, a man named Kenny Shriver, from Florida, along with a Condominium Development Company bought the land and began development. The Duck Club was so named because of the Prestigious Duck Hunting Club directly behind it. The marina was dug out and the clubhouse was built. The docks were sold off as Condominiums and the Duck Club Association was born.
